Mark and Peter had similar pasts; they had abandoned the faith - Jesus and his people.
Jesus says he will never back away even when we abandon him (wether through action or our words)
How is that good news for a us as broken and confused people?
Talk about the scope of the Hope that is revealed in this posture of God.
John the Baptist had a very particular role, and although the role is different his posture and alignment with Jesus is something for us to emulate.
He recognized that his role was to point people to Jesus, that Jesus was to get all the glory in whatever he did.
So, whether you eat drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. 1 Corinthians 10:31 Etc.
