Read 1 Peter 5:1-14. What stands out to you about this passage? How would you define humility? Do you agree that pride can be both superiority and inferiority? How have you seen pride limit the hope in your life?
How are church leaders like “shepherds?” How is humility essential to be shepherd in God’s church? How do you test someone’s character for humility?
What does it mean to “cast all your cares on him?” When have you experienced the freedom of this? What makes it difficult?
Why is it important that we know Satan first and foremost as a liar? How does self-deception feed our pride and our anxieties? What are the lies you deceive yourself with?
What is the promise 1 Peter 5:10? How is this promise based in the past, empowering in the present, and fulfilled in the future?
What “suffering for a little while” are you in the midst of right now? Take some time to pray for the truth of the gospel to give you perseverance. Who in your life needs to know how the hope of eternity can give them strength in the midst of their suffering? Pray for the opportunity to share the promise of 1 Peter 5:10 with them
