Serve the City: Christmas Edition starts November 24 and marks the 5th anniversary! At the back of the auditorium at both campuses, trees will be set up at both campuses with ornaments that represent a need for either an individual or for a gift card.
Simply choose an ornament from one of the trees and take it to one of the hosts at the table beside the tree to sign up to buy that gift. We encourage you to add an encouraging note and to pray for that individual or the organization and it's volunteers throughout the year.
*Please note: gifts are due back at the church by December 15.
THE CRIDGE CENTRE FOR THE FAMILY
We have adopted 6 families currently living in the transition housing offered at the Cridge. We will gather gifts and gift certificates to support these families with personal gifts and a hamper of treats and gift cards.
ANGEL TREE
This program is an extension of Prison Fellowship Ministries aims to help parents who are incarcerated in BC prisons to reach out to their children. We will support a number of families within the Greater Victoria area by purchasing and presenting a gift on behalf of an incarcerated parent.
VICTORIA WOMEN'S TRANSITION HOUSE
This non-faith based organization offers temporary housing to women fleeing from abusive relationships, often with small children. We will purchase gift cards that will be handed out throughout the year to provide an immediate meal or assistance with purchasing new clothing etc. as many will have left everything behind.
SANCTUARY YOUTH CENTER
This tree is will be adopted by our SBC kids! They will provide small gift cards for meals from local fast food chains like Tim Horton's, Subway, and McDonald's that will be presented to teens currently living on the street.
