For around two decades, SBC members and beyond have followed the call to live Micah 6:8 lives by compassionately loving and acting justly for the poor and the oppressed living in the San Quintin Valley, Mexico. What started out as a few congregation members feeling burdened for the people of the San Quintin Valley after a short-term mission trip to Vicente Guerrero, quickly turned into a significant global ministry for SBC that saw dozens of people serving in Mexico each year. From this outreach program grew Mission San Quintin Dream Center (MSQ-DC). In 2012 MSQ-DC was established with a vision to bring love, hope, faith, and transformation in the name of Jesus to the people of the San Quintin Valley. Through ministry partnerships and collaboration with state and local government, MSQ-DC determined to establish themselves within the community, creating community development and sustainable change.

MSQ-DC, like many other non-profit organizations, faced challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic. In the spring of 2022, the MSQ-DC board began considering the future of the organization and started weighing the various options for moving forward. After much prayer and deliberation, it was decided at the beginning 2023 that MSQ-DC’s ministry in Mexico would conclude.

Significant ministry is still happening and will continue in the San Quintin Valley through the various individuals and organizations that remain, many of whom SBC has partnered with and continues to partner with.

We, as a church, remain committed to Living 6:8 and look to the future with great anticipation for how God will lead and use us to be a blessing to the world he loves.

Thank you to all of those who have generously given their time and resources to MSQ-DC. Please continue to pray with us for the people of the San Quintin Valley and for the future God has for SBC.
