Read Mark 10:46-52. What stands out to you about Bartimaeus’ story?  How does his story show the pattern of how God reaches individuals?  How is that reflected in your spiritual story? 

 

 

Is your faith strengthened more by conviction or by momentum? When others around you are passionate about Jesus, does that deepen your obedience, or substitute for it?  What happens to your spiritual consistency when energy fades or affirmation disappears?

 

 

Are you more passionate about Jesus changing your circumstances or changing your heart? Where might you be asking Jesus to fix what is “out there” instead of what is “in here”? In what ways might your expectations of Jesus be shaped by cultural hopes more than kingdom humility?

 

 

Spend some time Inviting Christ to demonstrate more of His Lordship in the lead up to Easter. Allow Him to reveal where the motivations of your heart may need to submit to the reality of His true Kingship.
