Where did you see Christ working around you, expanding your HOPE in Him?  How has that hope confronted your anxieties?

 

 

Read Mark 1:21-28.  What stands out to you about the passage?  Why were the people astonished by Jesus teaching?  Why do you think Jesus silenced the demon?  What does this passage teach us about Jesus authority?

 

 

What makes the Bible more than a moral authority in the believer’s life?  What’s the difference between reading the Bible to learn about God and reading the Bible to listen to God? 

 

 

What cultural voices (ie. Podcasts, blogs, books, etc.) that you listen to?  How have they shaped your worldview positively?  How is their ideology different than the gospel?

 

 

Do you ever think of Jesus’ authority as “Saviour and Lord” as a threat? What is He asking you to do that you are hesitant to do?  What is He asking you to believe that you find difficult to accept?

 

 

How has he used His authority for your freedom? 

 

 

Who in your life needs to know that the gospel can bring freedom by the authority of Jesus?  How are they followers of cultural “rabbis?”  What could you tell them about Jesus that would communicate he is a better rabbi? Spend some time praying for the words and opportunity to share the good authority of Jesus with them.
