Have you been wondering why we have a tent on stage or why there are tents in all of the Christmas Eve promotional material? Believe it or not, there's was reason for it!
This year, our theme has been Among Us. John 1:14 says, "The word became flesh and made his dwelling among us." The Greek translation for the verse is actually closer to "pitched his tent among us" or like the Message puts it "God put on flesh and moved into the neighbourhood."
Jesus didn't come to earth to live in a palace to live a life of luxury and free of hardship. Instead, he was born to poor parents. He came to earth and celebrated with family and friends at a wedding, he wept over the loss of His friend Lazurus, he used his hands to cure leprosy, and he ate with sinners and tax collecters.
He didn't separate himself. He pitched his tent and lived Among Us.
