SBC strives to bring faith, hope, love, and transformation in the name of Jesus to the people of the San Quintin Valley. For more than 10 years, SBC has focused on providing housing, food, and clothing to those in need.
Each trip, our teams focus on building either a school or a home for a family. In addition, they try to visit families from previous house builds to make any necessary repairs. In past years, our teams would also visit one of the campos, a settlement for the farm workers, and bring bags of food as well as a hot meal. Now, they visit the local landfill to reach out to the people who live and work there.
As our mission grew, we established the Mission San Quintin Dream Center (MSQ DC) where our teams stay when they travel down to Mexico. Through MSQ DC we are able to host teams from other churches and organizations throughout the year to broaden our impact and provide greater support.
Through MSQ DC, we are also able to offer a meal program that began in November 2016. Once a week, 60 to 100 kids are fed breakfast. Then, on January 14, 2018, in partnership with Casa Church, we launched our second breakfast club. God willing, we will see hundreds kids receiving a nutritious meal! Our goal is to provide a consistent, solid meal for these children. Often, this is the only good meal they receive. Ultimately, we would like to reach all of the under-nourished children in the San Quintin Valley. Just imagine if there were enough breakfast clubs in the valley that no child there went hungry!
We have also started to host soccer tournaments for the youth in an effort to establish relationships and activities to keep vulnerable youth out of local gangs. We ask for your prayers and support as we travel, build, and share God's love through various outreach opportunities in the region of Vicente Guerrero.
Whether you're a world traveler or have never experienced a short term missions trip before, we encourage you to join us. It is not only a blessing to those you serve, but an experience that will change your life.
