Community Life

We at SBC want to get you connected at the level you choose to be connected at. People are authentically doing life together in groups all over the city. Groups are where people learn together, pray together and Live 6:8

Are you looking for a way to get connected at SBC? Here are some great groups happening this fall:

Connections: Ladies' Night Out

This group meets the last Tuesday of the month with fun events such as line dancing, making meals in jars, and creating Christmas swag. Every month is a bit different, but its a great way to meet some ladies at our church and get connected.

Check out for their December event and to sign up.

Keep Your Love On (KYLO)

This 10 week study is about connection, communication, and boundaries. Keep your love on is a hard thing to do. But if you want to build healthy relationships with God and others, it’s non–negotiable. Adults and children alike thrive in healthy relationships where it is safe to love and be loved, to know and be known. Yet for many, relationships are anything but safe, loving, or intimate. They are defined by anxiety, manipulation, control, and conflict. The reason is that most people have never been trained to be powerful enough to keep their love on in the face of mistakes, pain, and fear.

Ladies Bible Study

Ladies, we're starting up again! We'll meet on the 1st, 3rd, and 4th Thursdays for our bible study. Then on every 2nd Thursday of the month we'll be helping out the Moms' Rise and Shine group with childcare.

We'll be going through Emotionally Healthy Spirituality:

"It's a simple truth, but one that trips up believers everywhere: You can't be healthy spiritually if you're unhealthy emotionally. Join us in this eight-week journey, as we take a close look at what it means to break free from bondage to the past and experience true emotional healing.

The Emotionally Healthy Spirituality Course video study provides a strategy for discipleship that leads to total transformation of your emotional helath and spirituality. A transformation that will help you mature into a faith filled with authenticity and a profound love of God - even and especially when faced with interpersonal conflicts and crises.

Redeemed and Breaking Free is a fellowship of Christ followers who share their vulnerability, experiences, strength, and hope with each other in accordance with the healing principles found in Scripture. The only requirement for membership is honesty, with a desire to fully incorporate our identity as those who have been redeemed by Jesus, and a desire to break free from the bondage of lust, pornography, and sexual addiction.

Redeemed and Breaking free upholds confidentiality in order to provide a safe environment.

Those who wish to take the first step on the path towards freedom please visit the website for more

All first time members must email the group coordinator in order to confirm time and meeting location.

Rise and Shine

Motherhood brings lots of opportunities for playdates and scheduled interactions with other moms. But very few opportunities for deep relationships or community. Rise and Shine is for any mom, whether from the church or not, who is looking for a place to connect and be encouraged through authentic community. We hope you'll leave inspired to rise and shine, instead of merely pushing through the chaos of the day. Join us!

Something that is new this year is that our group will be meeting every week, two weeks at the church and two weeks offsite. One of our meetings will take place in the evening so that working mamas can still be a part of our group.
The schedule looks like this:
est: Week 1
Inspire: Week 2
Serve: Week 3
Explore: Week 4

We'll meet at someone's house or restaurant for dessert and appy's. Kids are left at home. This is a great opportunity to connect with moms who are no longer on maternity leave, or for moms who have schedule conflicts on Thursday mornings.
Thursday evening | 7-9p

This is a time to inspire one another through topical discussions, speakers, learning something new, etc. Childcare is provided by volunteers.
Thursday morning | 9:30-11a

We'll meet at the church for a time to serve in whatever way we discuss. Childcare is proved by volunteers.
Thursday morning | 9:30-11a

We'll meet offsite at a park or beach, etc. Bring the kids!
Thursday morning, TBD,
