To see ordinary people make an extraordinary difference because they are living 6:8.
We want our communities to experience Jesus' grace, love, and hope through how we live our lives. We seek to be people who are committed to:
- Sacrificially serving the people of greater Victoria and the San Quintin Valley.
- Assisting others in taking the next steps in their spiritual journey.
- Gathering each week to celebrate God and what he has done for us.
- Raising up the next generation of Christ-followers to be world-changers.
- Seeing God move in a way that impacts our lives and others.
Pastor Steve Sundby's "I Dream of a Church"
September 10, 2017
I dream of a church that gathers in multiple locations to
wholeheartedly celebrate Jesus, experience community and have their
lives transformed by God’s Word. I dream of a church like that.
I dream of a church where human need finds healing. A place where
the skeptic, the seeker, the person of any race or sexual preference can
come as they are and discover, maybe for the first time, that God is real
& they really do matter to Him and to us. I dream of a church like that.
I dream of a church where people gather together all over the city - to
love one another, do life together and inspire each other to walk
humbly with Jesus, love mercy and act justly. I dream of a church like
I dream of a church where marriages & families are being miraculously
healed & restored. A church where the next generation is so valued
and loved that the rest of us put our personal preferences on the shelf
– while seeking to build up the next generations in Jesus, so they can go
out and be 68 world changers. I dream of a church like that.
I dream of a church that is sending people – young & old - to the four
corners of this earth. People willing to sacrificially go and use their gifts
and talents to share Jesus with people who desperately need him. I
dream of a church like that.
I dream of a church full of people who are adopting their blocks and
reaching out to their neighbours and friends with the love and grace of
Jesus. A church where Christ followers are involved in caring for the
poor, women on the streets and the forgotten in the nursing homes
and prisons. A church that is causing the city to speak differently about
Jesus and His church. I dream of a church like that.
I dream of a church that has dynamic, God glorifying, life transforming
dream centers in Victoria and Vicente Guerrero. Dream Centers that
are stopping child rape, giving children hope through education,
keeping teens alive by keeping them out of gangs, blessing single parent
families and giving hundreds of under-resourced people life changing
encounters with Jesus. I dream of a church like that.
I dream of a church where people are more important than programs.
A church where lives are being healed and made whole. A church
where the radical love of Jesus is on display. A church where people
are being baptized and miracles are breaking out. A church filled with
people – who are sold out to following Jesus and whose heartbeat – is
to daily Live6:8. A church where religion is dead and Jesus is alive. I
dream of a church like that.
I dream of a church full of people so filled with the Holy Spirit that
nothing can stop them or stand against them as they go out and
courageously share the good news of Jesus in word and action.
I dream of a church like that and I hope you do to!
